Exel, part of the Supply Chain division of Deutsche Post DHL, designs and implements innovative contract logistics solutions for market-leading companies in a wide range of industries in America, Canada and Latin America across over 100 million sq ft, 500 sites and with 40,000 associates. DP DHL was the first global logistics company to set a quantifiable climate protection target and plans to reach our goal of improving our carbon efficiency – and that of our subcontractors – by 30 % by the year 2020 through more efficient transport, optimized planning and the use of alternative energy sources, innovative technologies and ideas. Over the course of five years, a journey which began with tracking and accounting for carbon emissions is evolving into embedding reduction strategies in operations and delivering customer solutions . Learn how we plan to grow the sustainable economy through optimization of our own portfolio and those of their customers via our internal GoGreen program, launched in 2007.  A focus on the role of warehouse efficiency in a 3PL’s strategic plan will be discussed in addition to specific carbon levers and site examples.
