How the Home Depot is Making Strides in Reducing GHG Emissions and Energy Usage

The Home Depot has set some pretty aggressive goals when it comes to reducing Energy Usage and GHG Emissions. As the world’s largest home improvement specialty retailer with 2011 sales of $70.4 Billion, this is no small task.

Some of those challenges include:

 • Setting realistic targets

• Transportation efficiencies

• Behavioral changes that make a huge impact on energy usage

• Operational changes

• How this has all added up to a savings of 2.6Billion KWh’s or enough energy to power 203,000 homes for a year


This presentation will discuss these issues and opportunities, and specifically how Home Depot is addressing them through its supply chain, operations, and innovative products.
